Evidence-based for function restoration
For the past 50 years, mechanical studies of the function of foot by pressure sensor plates have yet to show any existing bone-breaking surgery can consistently restore normal function of the great toe and foot. This inadequate biomechanical result is believed to be directly related to the damages caused by derangement of normal bones by osteotomy procedures.
The foot-lab at Center for Wu's Bunion Surgery has demonstrated consistent function restoration of more than 250 bunion feet in the past three years. The likely explanation is syndesmosis procedure is capable of realigning and stabilizing the first metatarsal bone without having to sacrifice its integrity. |
